 One Day Field Trip 2024 Travelogue

The field trip for the first semester of B.Ed. Curriculum was visited in Thiruvananthapuram City on 27th September 2024. The journey started at 6:24 am from the college, and we had breakfast on the way to Nilamel, Kollam District. The trip started with the Prayer by Dr Elizabeth Joshua. The trip was travelled via Tharakara- Mamkamkuzhy- Charumoodu- Adoor- Kottarakara- Vamanapuram- Pothencode- Kazhakuttom Thiruvallam route. The breakfast was served at Hotel Bismillah at Nilamel, Kollam District at 08 am and left at 08:45 am.  


The first spot for the field trip was Kerala Arts and Craft Village, Vellar, Thiruvananthapuram reached at 10:19 am. The Kerala Arts and Craft Village in Vellar, Thiruvananthapuram, is a vibrant hub showcasing the rich artistic traditions of Kerala. Nestled in a picturesque setting, it features artisans demonstrating various crafts, including pottery, handloom weaving, and traditional woodwork. Visitors can explore workshops, purchase handmade souvenirs, and enjoy cultural performances that highlight the state's heritage. The village serves as a great place to immerse yourself in Kerala’s artistic culture while supporting local artisans. It’s an ideal destination for anyone interested in art, culture, and craftsmanship. We entered the Village after the procedures regarding on procedures entry fee. The whole batch was divided into two groups and visited various parts of this village. 









Kerala arts & Craft Village highlights the preservation and maintenance of various products such as statues, books, jute bags, mats, musical instruments, bronze and copper products, paper products, textile products, bamboo products and so on. We left the Kerala Arts and Crafts Village at 01:11 pm. 


We had lunch at 11:45 at The Authentic Malabari Dum Biriyani Hotel, Kazhakuttom, Thiruvananthapuram and all students joined hands to contribute students to serving food and cleaning. The hotel had limited space and facilities and it was congested but we had overcome such challenges. We left from there at 03: 08 pm and we went to Lulu Mall, Thiruvananthapuram at 03:30 pm. We spend 3 hours visiting the shops and seeing the ambience of Lulu Mall. We students divided the different groups and visited various shops at various parts of the Mall. Many students including me bought different products from this Mall. I bought a book titled 'Bharat Rising: Dharma, Democracy and Diplomacy' by Utpal Kumar from the Crossword Shop. Many students participated in games on the Second floor of the Lulu Mall. We left Lulu Mall at 06:30 pm. Many of our friends left from the College tour on the way and we went to Hotel Nice, Kottiyam, Kollam at 8:12 pm. We ordered different food like Chappatti, Dosa, Appam, Noodles, etc and we left from there at 09: 20 pm. The return trip was travelled through Kazhakuttom- Mangalapuram- Attingal- Chattanoor- Kottiyam- Kundara- Bharanikavu- Charumoodu- Chunakara- Thazhakara- Mavelikara route. We reached college at 10:55 pm. The Field Trip consisted of 45 students with four teachers (Teachers namely Dr Mumtas S, Dr Velayudhan T Nair, Dr Elizabeth Joshua and Dr Renjany). We enjoyed very well by music, dance and capturing photos.
